DOG PARK IN THE SKY

Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation’s Dog Park in the Sky is a special way to honor those that are gone from our lives but never absent from our hearts.

By giving a donation to CCR as a tribute to a loved one, the fate of thousands of the most vulnerable animals in our city can be changed in their honor.

For a donation of $100 or more, your beloved pet’s photo and a memorial message will be posted as a permanent tribute to a beloved life. You may also gift this memorial to a friend or loved one so they may honor their own pet.

Gus

Gus the dog, friend to so many dogs, their people, and their cats. The vice-mayor of Mayfair. A big personality, a talker and a good listener, a constant companion, and the best dog in the whole wide world. Thank you, CCR, for introducing us to Gus and his 6 beautiful siblings in 2013.

Lucy

Lucy came to me from CCR in 2016. I was so blessed to have dear Lucy for 6 1/2 years. She was a loving, sweet companion who filled my life with joy.

Bailey

In memory of Bailey, our sweet and beloved family member and friend. While the time that we shared was brief, we were eternally blessed for the love, kindness, companionship, and playful curiosity that you brought to our lives. Although we are now apart, we fill forever hold you in our hearts and thoughts, and we know that each day there will be occurrences that bring forward the memories that will always keep us together.

Haley

Haley (“Hay Hay”) was 5-years old when we adopted her from CCR in 2017, with her bonded sister, Khloe. If you were lucky enough to be in Haley’s “pack,” she was the most loving and loyal dog there has ever been. She gave us 7 years of friendship, love, and, unlimited face kisses. We will all miss you and love you forever.

Maisie

In loving memory of Maisie (2011-2024), the sweetest companion we ever could’ve asked for. We brought Maisie (then Flora 2!) home from CCR in 2013, and she went on to live the fullest life in San Francisco and Singapore. She brought us so much joy with her love of the ball and all her irrational fears. Simple things were made special because we saw them through Maisie’s eyes. We miss you everyday, Maisie, and you are always in our hearts.

Petey

2/26/2007 – 12/9/2023 While his body was betraying him at the end, his mind was still sharp and he was living on his terms. He was a smart, independent and mischievous Marshall Border Collie. Petey was a great dog and loved deeply by Nancy and all who knew him.

Enzo

Enzo was our once-in-a-lifetime love. He was our little Napoleon and the world’s greatest big brother to Alice and John. We will never ever forget you, our wise old man.

You truly are one of a kind. You were the best 10 years in my life and you were taken unexpectedly! Life is very lonely without you. I miss you and your sweet soul. Thank you for all the memories. I will never forget you! Mom and Olivia will always miss and love you forever❤️

Rico

Rico was a member of our family for nine years after a “foster fail.” He was a sweet and gentle dog who loved to take long walks with his mama. Our home is a little quieter and our hearts a little heavier for his loss.

Dozzer

Dozzer is forever in our hearts. Intelligent, loyal, brave, gentle, toy collector, friend and companion

Donnie

Donnie (formerly Donovan) joined our family from CCR in February 2014. He was a beautiful soul, who brought so much joy and love to our family. Though Donnie passed on peacefully at home in September 2023, he will always be with us in our hearts.

Tuna

For Tuna, who would have wanted all of the dogs to have a soft bed and warm blankets just like him. Tuna was a light in this world, bringing joy and sloppy kisses to everyone he met – especially his mom and dad. The world was a better place with Tuna and he will always be remembered as the best boy.

Kevin

In memoriam of Kevin Arnold Harrison, beloved dog of Chelsea Harrison. He was the best boy who crossed the rainbow bridge on June 27, 2023.

How lucky we are to have had a dog that makes saying goodbye so hard. Rest in Peace, sweet little Damen.

Biscuit

In memory of Biscuit, the best dog anyone could have, ever. For 10 years, you filled our lives with love and joy and smiles and laughter. We wish it could’ve been longer but we know we must be grateful you were with us at all. I close my eyes and imagine you running and romping in a big, beautiful meadow in doggy heaven, with plenty of rabbits and squirrels to chase, and a large, cool swimming hole. We will cherish our precious memories of you forever, and our love for you will never fade. Farewell sweetheart.

Fabio

Fabio was adopted in September 2017. He came with a list of medical issues but none of it discouraged me once I saw him. I had him only a short 4.5 years but his adorable grumpiness made its way into my heart as if I had him 20 years. He is very very missed by me in so many ways.
